“Pass the Torch for Women Foundation Announces Partnership with the
Gregory S Fehribach Center at Eskenazi Health ”
July 7, 2022 – Indianapolis, IN –The Pass the Torch for Women Foundation and the Gregory S. Fehribach Center (Fehribach Center) Partnership has been formed to provide a unique professional development and mentorship opportunity to currently studying and/or recently graduated Fehribach Center interns across the state of Indiana.
The Fehribach Center provides students who have a physical disability with internships at Eskenazi Health or one of the Fehribach Center’s employer partners. The Fehribach Center aims to better prepare students for full-time employment following graduation. The Fehribach Center also works to build students’ work experience.
The internships offered by the Fehribach Center last eight weeks and take place during the summer, fall, and spring. Students are matched with programs that align with their academic pursuits, interests, and career goals.
Carlos Taylor, Program Manager, expresses that “the Gregory S. Fehribach Center couldn’t be more thrilled about this new partnership with the Pass the Torch for Women Foundation. In addition to the work experiences students gain through internships facilitated by the Fehribach Center, they will now be able to enhance their professional growth opportunities through the mentorship program with the Pass the Torch for Women Foundation. Unfortunately, students with physical disabilities don’t often have opportunities to meet professionals and mentors. This new partnership will undoubtedly equip Fehribach Center interns with greater tools for success”.
One-on-one mentoring sessions will help interns develop their strengths to grow personally and professionally. The partnership also facilitates an excellent networking opportunity as interns become part of an ever-growing community of professionals with whom they can interact during the mentoring term.
“We are proud to partner with the Fehribach Center to provide meaningful mentoring opportunities for students and developing professionals across the state of Indiana. This reciprocal partnership aligns with our mission of empowering those in our community by investing in and lifting the stories of those who deserve to have their narratives heard. We are thankful for the support of the Fehribach Center team and have appreciated the opportunity to host student interns at our Foundation. We know that it takes a village and I encourage all who wish to join as a mentor to reach out to our team to learn more”, states Samantha Burke, Executive Director of Pass the Torch for Women Foundation.
The partnership demonstrates the positive impact that mentorship can have as they develop personally and professionally. The mission of the partnership is to equip women with the necessary skills for workforce readiness and help grow their network of professional contacts. The result will be a statewide cohort of women successfully and confidently making their way into the workplace.
The Pass the Torch for Women Foundation is committed to creating a world where women are equitably represented at all levels of leadership in business, organization, and government. The Foundation is looking to continue to partner with like-minded companies and organizations to propel their women internally through leadership development and mentoring. The impact of the Foundation has grown outside of the Indianapolis community and will continue to scale and diversify nationwide.
