Meet Our New Marketing Fellows at Pass the Torch!

Pass The Torch is excited to introduce our two new Marketing Fellows, Alexis Worl and Dawttiniang Phuting! With curious hearts and experiences, we can’t wait to see what new ideas they can bring to the team. Read below to learn more about Alexis and Dawt!

Alexis is a native of Cambridge City, IN, and she currently attends Butler University. There she studies Strategic Communications and Marketing. Eager to work for a meaningful mission, Alexis has recently started her role as a Marketing and Communications Fellow. In her free time, she enjoys exploring new restaurants, spending time with her friends, and seeing cats.

Alexis’ biggest mentor is her grandmother, whom she calls Nonni. She has learned about hard work, kindness, and the importance of having a sense of humor from her. Through her Nonni, she has learned what it means to be a woman who leads by example. Alexis joined the Pass the Torch team because she is passionate about connecting women and creating a strong community of women. She is most excited to work with the Pass the Torch team and create new connections while learning more about her desired career path.

Dawt came to Indianapolis at a young age from Chin State, Myanmar, and attended Indiana University Indianapolis studying Business Management & Marketing. Through her work with the local Chin community, she learned to love helping others reach their goals and reaching out through creative mediums. All of this has led to her becoming the Marketing Fellowship in order to learn more about outreach. Dawt loves to sing and go out to eat with friends, especially new restaurants she hasn’t tried before.

From an immigrant background, she has seen women in her community face hardships and face them head-on. Her largest influence in life comes from a close family friend who taught her how to persevere in different environments. She taught the ropes of a business and inspired her to enter the business world, especially marketing.

Dawt joined Pass The Torch because she wanted to branch out into different fields and learn more from the amazing women who are a part of the organization. She is excited to gain new connections while learning marketing strategies from a non-profit lens.
