June 26th, 2019– Pass the Torch for Women Foundation is celebrating the addition of seven new members to the Foundation’s National Board of Directors.
The Foundation’s Board of Directors is expanding alongside the expansion of the Foundation’s programs. “As we continue to grow the reach and the impact of the Foundation, we believe it’s an ideal opportunity to also expand our Board,” Board Chair Mary Beth Oakes said. “Our newest Board members will help us to continue to provide knowledge, structure and insight to our staff, and to evolve our strategic plan.”
The National Board of Directors is a body of elected members who jointly oversee the activities of the Pass the Torch for Women Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization with a mission of growing women leaders by providing professional training and mentoring to women at all levels of their careers.
New Board members have diverse career experiences and skillsets, but all share a passion for the Foundation’s mission.
Amanda Babic– Assistant Director of Student Life and Development at Ivy Tech Community College, and has served as the main liaison for Project Grow on Ivy Tech’s campus.
Akilah Darden– Operations Executive at Smoot Construction, where she provides leadership, establishes project objectives and policies, and maintains liaisons with prime client contracts.
Amanda Fishburn– Former Vice President of Operations for IGNITION Design Group, with 20 years of experience in project management, client services, and event experience.
Lauren Grey Flanagan– Vice President, Employee Benefits Consultant for USI Insurance Services, and a trusted advisor and leader of strategic employee communications in healthcare.
Carrie Hanni– Partner in charge of the Avon, IN office of Kemper CPA Group LLP, with over 20 years of experience in audit, accounting, and tax services.
Kathleen Hart– Attorney and Partner of Riley Bennet Egloff LLP, who aims to advocate for clients in negotiating deals to reach their goals.
Betty Lonis– Vice President, Human Resources Business Partners for Cox Automotive, serving as a strategic partner, and leading her team in the execution of progressive and organizational programs.
About Pass the Torch for Women Foundation (PTTFW): With their peers being in the minority within top decision-making levels, how do women create the connections that allow them to grow as leaders? How do they gain the skills and support to move up the ranks? The Pass the Torch for Women Foundation is addressing this issue in a unique and powerful way. We are creating a community of women and men committed to supporting women throughout their career lifecycles, from college students to emerging leaders to top executives.
