Get to Know Our Developing Professionals Committee- Tiffany Barthelmy

As a Sr. Release Train Engineer within the Automotive Industry, Northern Indiana quickly become my new home. With my recent relocation to Indiana, I early sought avenues through my workplace to fulfill one of my innate passions: empowering and inspiring females to see past their current circumstances and envision the life they want to live. The desired avenue became clear instantly when Pass the Torch for Women presented their mission and vision at my company. After attending several PTTFW events, I was certain that I wanted to be a part of this diverse sisterhood which was founded on the power of female mentorship. I became a member of Pass the Torch for Women’s (PTTFW) Developing Professionals (DP) Group in March of 2018 and have been able to brainstorm, collaborate, and execute visions for the developing professionals within the organization. We get the unique opportunity to make the quality of our member’s experience even better! Who wouldn’t want to do that? The best part, the committee is always open to new ideas and perspectives to ensure the organization’s continuous improvement. Mentorship is not a universal experience so, when you do get the chance to be mentored, you feel compelled to pour into and give back to others-it becomes cyclical. I has the honor to hear one of my favorite role models speak in Indianapolis early this week and she said something that was so profound that it quickly became one of my favorite quotes:

“When you’ve worked hard, and done well, and walked through that doorway of opportunity, you do not slam it shut behind you. You reach back.”- Michelle Obama
