In 2015, USA Funds had given the Pass the Torch for Women Foundation a grant to implement a college mentoring program (Project Grow) locally in Indianapolis in partnership with Ivy Tech Community College and Marian University. Student Life leaders from both institutions accepted applications from students and choose fifty (50) from each school to go through the program. The students selected took part in four (4) different module classes: “Fundamentals in Mentoring”, “Propelling Your Career with Mentors and Sponsors”, “The Art of Negotiation”, and “Networking with Intention”. In between the workshops, the students were encouraged to utilize the online software to get matched with a mentor, with access to up to four (4) mentors per year. The students from the Project Grow shared their personal testimonials at their graduation from the program.
Here are some student testimonials:
“There were days that I did not think I could make it through my classes. This program did not let me give up” -Cynthia
