“For me, I see myself as an educator and knowledge seeker who wants to share to build others up.” – Linda Daikite Karressy
Linda Karressy has worked with a variety of business functions and diverse groups of individuals as a seasoned accounting professional. As owner of Insight Financial Group LLC, Linda provides bookkeeping/other accounting services along with educating clients on how to ensure their businesses are financially healthy. She has performed P&L analysis, balance sheet reconciliation, budgeting, and successfully built relationships with non-financial individuals. Linda has been able to use her keen attention to detail and teaching skill to drive efficiencies at every level. She believes the most important aspect of accounting is communicating in a concise and gentle manner.
Linda earned a Bachelor’s degree in accounting from Indiana University-Bloomington and a graduate certificate in nonprofit management from IUPUI School of Public Affairs. While at Indiana University, Linda participated in an exchange program with the University of Maastricht. She was able to travel extensively throughout Europe and meet individuals from Sweden, Germany, and Italy.
After graduating from college, Linda went on to work for several companies such as Cardinal Health and Celanese in Finance. Linda had the opportunity to work in Juarez, Mexico for a new Cardinal Health operation. She was awarded the Cardinal Health Chairman’s Award and Cardinal Finance Recognition Team Award for helping to establish the new business unit.
Linda learned the importance of giving back from her family, teachers, mentors and friends. She now believes in paying it forward. Linda’s goal is not to boost her ego but help others reach their full potential. Working in Juarez, Mexico and living in Europe help broadened her mind that community includes not only the individuals who live near you but the person who lives in the other section of the city. She believes we all have a stake in making a better life for those who need our help.
Linda’s past volunteer activities included: teaching computer skills to individuals over fifty years old, teaching elementary students basic finance with Junior Achievement, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) where she prepared tax returns for low to middle class citizens, supporting Forest Manor Multi Service Center with the 2009 Holiday Sing Up Event, and teaching girls about conflict resolution with Girls Inc. She currently is a Starfish Mentor and board member for Global Preparatory Academy. Linda enjoys dating her husband, Moussa, playing with our daughters Cecil Khadijah and Tete Mintagabe, traveling and reading autobiographies.
