New Year, New Info about Pass the Torch!

Didn’t catch our 2017 Kick-off Newsletter?

No need to panic! Read below about the progress the foundation has made in the past year and learn about new things to look forward to in 2017 from Executive Director Julie Petr!

Happy New Year!  I am so proud of the progress made in 2016 by the Foundation thanks to your volunteer commitment to grow women leaders, our vision!  Women are still very much underrepresented in corporate America and government, and as we learned at the Fall Open House this year from speaker Sue Ellspermann, Ivy Tech President, women are making much less money than their male counterparts.  We have much work to do to reverse these trends, which is why now than ever, we need to continue to support our mission to create a community that guides women as they navigate throughout their career lifecycle to included college students, emerging leaders who are beginning and middle-career women, and seasoned female executives.

2017 brings much hope for the Pass the Torch for Women Foundation.  I look forward to working with our outstanding National Board, chaired by President, Linda Matkowski, our Executive Leadership Team, chaired by Debby Routt, the 500 Circle chaired again by Lori Ball, who will be proceeded by Vice Chair, Patty Prosser in October, and with our fun Logistics Committee, chaired by Pat Roe.  Samantha Burke, National Program Director, and myself could not do the work that we need to do to support our Foundation vision and mission without the energy, passion, and commitment from the generous leadership of these volunteers.  Our corporate sponsors and local companies show great interest in engaging staff as mentors in our community, which will allow additional women to participate in the community as mentees.  Our academic partners, Ivy Tech Community College, Marian University, IUPUI, and The University Of Indianapolis continue to show great interest in having their female students participate in project grow to provide the Foundation with the leaders of the future!

Again, Happy New Year, and THANK YOU!
